Peter Korp Joins the Board and Gambiagruppner Conference

I'd like to welcome our newest board member, Peter Korp, who will be joining us as the Foundation's new secretary. Njaboute Foundation also attended the Gambiagruppner Conference in September to introduce ourselves.

Peter Korp is teacher and researcher at the University of Gothenburg's Department of Food and Nutrition and Sport Science. He has a PhD in sociology, with his thesis centred around the promotion of health – a sociological study of the institutionalization of health promotion.

For obvious reasons, this made Peter a perfect candidate for joining the Foundation board and helping us change hearts and minds in the Gambia. His analytical approach, years of experience and understanding of health issues lends, well to his new role as secretary.

As part of Peter joining the board, we have changed roles within the Foundation to better specialise with our expertise. Katerina has become the Foundation's new CFO and Christopher Hyde has become the Vice Chairperson. We hope that this will improve our efficiency and allow us to collaborate better.

This September we attended a Gambiagruppner conference to introduce ourselves to the group members and advocate for some of our ideas. It was fantastic to meet the members of the group which we have been engaging with online for several months now. Everyone was very friendly and supportive - take a look through the gallery below at all those smiles!

We will attend a follow up discussion in November to discuss our ideas in more detail. We have some big ideas and aim to start working on them next year!
